Succulent

That's as specific as the tag gets!

This needs bright light, but I'm living on the edge and seeing how it does without that. Crazy, I know.

Fern

I've decided to branch out into houseplants. Here's the first victim:

Botanical name: Polypodiaceae family fern
Light: No direct sunlight.
Care: Needs higher humidity, thorough watering, do not let dry out, but do not let stand in excess water. Fertilize bimonthly.
Do not consume! Hee!

Experimental garden

Here's the back 'experimental' garden April 2, 2008. I've only planted the back rows, but have some windflowers on the way from Veseys to border the front. It's experimental because I don't know what some of the plants are yet.

Back, from left to right: astilbe (inidentified), bleeding heart, unknown plant, pink asters, bachelor's button, bleeding heart, unknown plant.
Next row from back: creeping thyme, unidentified grass, astilbe, butterfly lavender, some type of creeping penstemon.
First row: Alpine poppies, jacob's ladders (dwarf), unknown plant.

Hopefully by the end of summer I'll be able to fill in some of the unknowns in this garden!

Euphorbia 'Kalipso'

This was my great find today. It's a Euphorbia with gorgeous red stems and cute clusters of leaves. Only 1.98!!
Botanical name: Euphorbia hybrid 'Kalipso'

Height: 16-20"
Care: High-nitrogen fertilizer...slow release once a season, or water soluble 2x a month.
Notes: Evergreen

Funny Face

It feels like spring today. FINALLY! I am loving being out in the garden again. And it's only April 2nd but I'm already banned from any more nursery/greenhouse shopping for at least 2 months.

Things are growing; sprouting, flourishing, blossoming, withering, beginning and ending... it's the story of a garden.
