it would appear that pansies do quite well with consistent watering

an unknown plant from Mom, cranesbill rozanne and coreopsis make a nice combination

April in the Garden

The garden is in fierce pre-bloom right now, and it looks really exciting....close up. Not so much in the pictures, but I do like to keep a record anyways. The amazing thing this year is that most of my yellow pansies survived our very mild winter and are flowering abundantly right now. I guess I got my money's worth on those!!

Sage and lillies

My favorite color of sage, with my birthday lily from Nakisa, which has come back strong 2 years in a row. In our front garden.

Notice the coleus...two plants survived after keeping them in my window all winter long. I did have to trim them almost back to nothing though, after they nearly wilted away when I first transplanted them.
Conclusion: Overwintering is NOT worth it for coleus!

Experimenting with a new vegetable this year. I didn't plant it from seed, and that sure seems to make a big difference! If only I had a greenhouse...
